Would you be kind enough to explain to this GW noob what it is that I am seeing? A bit of ass kicking and getting one's ass kicked?

My wmp can't figure out what video codec is in the file, so it doesn't play. What video codec is it?

{edit}It's DivX. I had it but apparently it was out of date and wmp was too dumb to recognise it.{/edit}

Guild vs. Guild battle. Two guilds play against each other either at 'home' in their guild hall or 'away' in the opposing teams guildhall. It's 8 vs 8. The guild that holds the flag stand for over 2 minutes and every 2 minutes thereafter gets a moral boost which shaves off spell/skill cost and reduces death penalty. Death penalty is the opposite of moral and if the character reaches 60%, they don't respawn on the timer. The object of GvG to eliminate the other sides Guild Lord.

:) Thank you.

So, then I will attempt to watch this again, with new understanding. 8)

Edit: New understanding indeed! I take it the side red bars are the team mates various health bars or some such, with that last bar being the guy you rip a new one to win.

And rip a new one you did! Teleport for the win!

It seems, as team play things should be, that to be taken on by two others is to die, while to to have help from a team mate is for them to die.

Very cool, and is that an axe and shield I see you using at some point or the staff just looks that way from a little ways off?

It's pretty common for casters in GW to swap to a shield when necessary. Gives you extra armour but doesn't help your spell casting. If you're running like hell with someone swinging pointy objects at you you aren't usually casting anything anyway.
