DEFCON

I grabbed the DEFCON demo this morning and spent a little quality time with it. Pretty fun little game for $17.50. Might have to buy it.

It's global thermo-nuclear war Wargames style:

Hilarious. I did the same thing this morning and I quite liked it. Not sure if I can drop the 15$ on it, as fractional as it may be. My game budget is pretty much the 15$ sub to EVE.

Let me know if you want to play sometime soon.

I bought it. It was $10 off stream and introversion has yet to let me down (this game included). I am not very good at it though :(

This game is cool, I enjoy the genocidal vibes.

My dad refuses to play it because of the subject matter... :P

This game came out in perfect timing with North Korea thing.

Does this game have much of a single player campaign, or is it just a AI skirmish or multiplayer?

Multiplayer only really. You can play against the AI but the AI isn't that great.

If the AI isn't that great, then I REALLY suck.

Well think about it; if you crank up the speed to 4x real time or what have you, the AI can think at that speed. We can't really so the damned machine is at a direct advantage with it's "AI". So try playing slower and see what happens.

That describes how I've been playing (4x). I will try it in real time...thanks for the tip.

Protip: Europe wins. Least area to defend means a higher concentration of silos. Of course, in multiplayer games, this means everybody gangs up on you :P

You can start taking off bombers in like Defcon 3; get them all in the air, so when it finally hits Defcon 1, you can overwhelmed your enemy's defenses. Micromanage naval battles for the win.

DEFCON went retail in the States last week. I just recently started playing the demo again and if retail isn't too much more than the box-less version I might pick it up for the pretty manual and box art.

edit - it was a bad idea putting this game on my work lappy
