The beta is really cool.

This game is definitely promising.

!! Yes, I went ahead and did the URL guessing game of pr0n pop up dewm!
God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of his own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players, to being involved in an obscure and complex version of poker in a pitch dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time.

I don't get why everyone's so hyped about it. Sure, it's by the guy that made Total Annihilation, but he's just one guy. I'm quite positive the whole team that worked on that game hasn't been carried over to Supreme Commander. I mean look at the team that made Dungeon Siege. That game was boring. How can Chris manage, with the same team, to make a good game and a good successor to TA?

Oh well, if it's good I'll prolly get it.

Supreme Commander == Total Annihilation 2.

Almost all of the gameplay mechanics are identical.

st0nkers has been writing a good bit about in the 'demo' thread. Sadly I downloaded the demo and runs like shite even on the lowest settings so I can't enjoy it. Suggestions?

It runs pretty well on a Geforce 7900 or Radeon X1900 class card.. those can be had for around $130-200 nowadays... depending on model. They used to be around $400+ a short 8-9 months ago... The game will run great on that.

I'm gong to limp along on my 7800GTX until the Radeon R600 comes out then make a new system. yays

Runs great on my 7800. I cranked the settings way up and play it at 1600x1200. Other then the odd pop from my sound (apparently I need new drivers) and the inherent instability of my X2 chip (I got one of the first ones) I have no problems what-so-ever with this game.

I saw the high quality screens though, and I'd like to play at that level.

I've got enough RAM (DDR550, 2GB), and my Opteron dual core is pretty well OC'd (2.7GHz), but I seem to be pretty much graphics constrained at the moment. The 7800GTX doesn't cut it anymore x: I figure a new system is to be built... with an OC'd low end Core2, 4GB of DDR2, and one of those nifty R600XTXs! I'm sure I'll be running WinXP Pro 64-bit, since I absolutely loath the state of drivers on Vista.

One of the major annoyances is that the ground units hopelessly bump into each other while trying to find their way around buildings, or themselves. Maybe that's why I've been building only air units.... but in a human match, you'd need ground units for sure since air units are too easily defeated early in the game + are expensive for a fledgling economy.

This game is a long time comming. Exactly the kind of RTS I have been looking for, for a good amount of time.

Its crazy how much strategy this game has in its tech levels. The interface is incredible, honestly. Where else can you have 6 factories create units for a que for 1 factory. I still can use Aeon correctly still for some reason. Its a really tough race to use economically and militarily.

Engineering is done really well, as building with multiple engineering requires a additional 2 clicks or a Group select then build que.

Yeah I really like this game.

Oh and by the wawy guys....

Next Operation Flashpoint game is out! With better multiplayer support finally!
