I was about to reply, but then realized that your last post was rather old, Pykl x:

Hijacking thread in 3...2...1...

Okay, so my desktop has been getting green squigglies followed by a full on freeze. At first it was happening only in games but just now it started in Windows (but the lines were pink).

I'm assuming this is a video card issue. Any possible solutions? Is my ol' 8800GT just toast?

Could be your heatsink on your card has lost contact and the card is overheating?
God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of his own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players, to being involved in an obscure and complex version of poker in a pitch dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time.

This was a pretty common problem with nVidia cards of the 8xxx, 9xxx, and G2xx generations (3 generations!!!).

At least your 8800GT didn't catch on fire like mine did :-P

You're pretty much screwed, as nVidia never bothered to fix the problem (they just ignored it).

Some people came up with a pretty creative fix though... a few friends mentioned that this worked for them.

Just ordered this with the rebates so let's hope it works out nicely.

I hate it because it bites into my 'new compy' savings. C'est la vie.
