[RELEASE!]CO_PRON... again!

From game maps and mods to random artwork and writing, it's the place to be when your not at the coffeeshop or taking a nap!

[RELEASE!]CO_PRON... again!

Postby BigDXLT » Mon Mar 22, 2004 3:10 am

Edit: I made a couple little changes that to me seem insignificant but I really don't know how to fix the problem. Hopefully this does something. If someone could let me know if it works for them, it'd be swell!

It's that time again folks! Time for an update to this wild and crazy map! Hopefully this version works.
http://web.unbc.ca/~derksons/mapping/co_pron.zip

Changelog version 2.0:
-Details here and there. Lots of little things changed.
-Looks better in places.
-More sekret thingers.
-Better readyroom.
-Death cheering! Yay! (Fall in a pit to hear it...)
-More ambient sound.
-Redid the hallways leading to the armoury. So much nicer to look at PLUS more depth perception! Yay!
-Redid the hallways leading to the hive. So much nicer to look at PLUS less depth perception! Yay!

I classify this into the "not quite" category of combat maps.

Fun map? Yeah. Eye bleeding colour? Yeah. Unique? Yeah.

Obviously, some, maybe many, people will not like this map, but I wanted to try some stuff with it. This map I worked on concurrently with co_nadir. It's basically my "I'm sick of working on nadir and need to do something different" map.

Well I present to you co_pron. It has a tron style, "MXC" rip-off rooms (it's a tv show... don't know it? google it!) and stuff.

Balanced map? Oh hells no. But I have a hugenormous JP/Lerk room. With rings for you to fly through!

The MXC elements you ask? Sinkers and Floaters, Nutbagging and Rotating Surf Board of Death to name a few (err all of them).

You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll puke at the noxious use of colour, but hopefully AFTER you download and play it!

Here's some pics (they haven't changed with the new version... much), the download is at the top.

Try it at night, I have a feeling UNBCs bandwidth gets sucked dry pretty good during the day. If the pics don't show up, then my sig and avatar shouldn't show up.

I'm about to re-edit the link. The zip file was messed up anyway!

Ook! Indeed! The images have been coming in much more slowly, and the zip is almost impossible to DL.

I'm going to mirror it here... once I do get it DL'd.

OM has it, fogies, please change it only when the server is empty and/or if the ppl who are playing want to play it.
God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of his own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players, to being involved in an obscure and complex version of poker in a pitch dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time.

Nevermind -- Funka's got it hosted on the Official OldF Map Repository.

Error! Ok, seems you compiled with and forgot to include primary.wad in your zip, thats why this map crashes the server. Please make sure you remove all not used .wads from your worldcraft/compiler set-up before attempting to compile, or include every wad you used.

I'm impressed that there haven't been more wad jokes. Or, perhaps, we've grown out of such things :P

Okay, I flipped over to it on PJ tonight after everyone left, and I need some confimation on a bug! It's fairly major, as it can cause seisures!

The red to black textures... do they scroll madly fast? At all? They can be found in the alien spawn, the rotating surfboard room, and the hill outside MS. The only time this texture should scroll is in the rings in the JP/Lerk room. Those rings should have the ONLY animated textures in the map!

The walls are not intended to scroll like that! If it's happening for anyone else let me know! This is the first time in all of my testing that it has done it! It's a neat effect for the first 10 seconds, but this map doesn't need anymore barf factor than it already has!

Thanks!
