Comm chair locked. Possible DAK bug

Postby mrmoo2002 » Wed Apr 17, 2013 5:58 pm

Here's a pic of what is happening.

Comm chair is sealed. Nobody is commander. DAK says that a map vote is in progress even though it is not.

Immediately before the bug, the match ended and there were 12 people. Mapvote started, a bunch left (leaving 5 or so in the server). There was a 3 way tie (one of the options was to extend the map). Mapvote restarted with those 3 options. Another 3-way tie. Then nothing happened. I assumed it'd move to the next map but whatever. We joined thinking that it would extend the map. A guy hopped in the CC and was stuck inside it (no commander vision apparently). He hit F4...the CC was still sealed.

It looks like the server needs a restart now but no admin is on :(

I've bumped the server to a new map. Hopefully that fixes the issue (not able to hop in and check right now). IMO we should let the DAK guys know the circumstances. The double tie and random selection to extend seems like an easy case to miss in testing.

It isn't easy being ice-encrusted aluminum silicate flouride hydroxide...

Thanks for the report Mr. Moo. I quoted your post, and replied in the DAK thread on the NS2 forums. Hopefully xDragon can code in a fix soon.

In addition, Thanks to Frosty Topaz for ammending the issue in the interim :)

Looks like the next build of DAK should have a fix for this. To quote xDragon:

I think I know what caused this, and will have it fixed in a coming update.
