Subspace rings an extremely large bell... But I can't remember it.

Any clues?

Little spaceships fly around and shoot at each other. Darwin and I played a version called Powerball, where the rules are very similar to soccer.
It is absurd to divide people into good and bad. People are either charming or tedious.

Wow there are so many posts. I'm not sure how long ago this thread got derailed so I guess I'll post about the topic thread title.

I used to play dod and alternated between surfing and playing with the same name constantly. I discovered NS while I was playing Cal Dod. I used a different name for Counter Strike at the time when I played on a rare occasion. It was/is Backdoor Galore. I feel that CS names have to be a lot more vulgar. Our dod clan even had a smurf clan for CS "team penis" or ^tp.

My dod names often followed some sort of pattern. They had to do with movies/tv/music/history, even comic book heroes for my first real dod clan The Justice League. I was Dr Doom. Some others include:

It's Moneytime Chacos! - which remains to this day my msn and steam friends network name. For some strange reason, if I was between clans, I would pub with this name and get invited into a clan. I was even asked to try out for a cal invite team.

Austrian Born Rockstar - mainly a reference to Falco, 80's visionary who made the classic track Rock Me Amadeus. As Hitler was Austrian Born and lead a sort of Rock Star lifestyle (fame, drugs, highs and despair) I figured that was reason enough to use the name.

Ogie Ogelthorpe - Slapshot is an awesome movie! My roommate played sometimes as The Hook McCracken. Also my name for my very first clan. I changed it from Moneytime..

A number of my names were some sort of joke my roommate and I had. Examples include:

Ron Silver - roommate, Ron Silver really deserves an Oscar, haha.
Ron Silver's Cutlass Supreme - me, his car was just as badass

Reducto - roommate, Harvey Birdman character, good cartoon, he still uses this dod name and he is now a better dod player than me :( Although he can't touch my melee, zookas or greasegun. He's just about as good as me with the Garand now.
Mentok Mindtaker - me, another Birdman character.

Some others that I like and remember but aren't important are:
Judge Reinholdt, Billy Ocean, Wil Wheaton, Daniel Sedin 4-0!! (when this Vancouver Canuck soundly beat the Red Wings despite their 20million plus in Goaltenders), Chinotto, Artem Chubarov (the Vancouver Canuck Russian vampire is gone now :(

Basically they were meant to be a little obscure, sometimes funny and often just the kind of name you wouldn't want to be killed by or see at the top of the score board.

For NS, I chose Manwich and unless clanning stuck with it most of the time. After seeing what this crazy beast called an OWNOS(?) eat someone and then the bite bite of a skulk chomping me down it was clear that we marines were just meals for some hungry hungry hippos. Where else could the dead bodies go. The name just made sense, so I changed it before the respawn.

My current smurf names are varied. Some try to mimic or refer to TMM in some subtle or twisted way. These include:

TikkaMasalaMeal - if you can't see why, please send $5 to me for an answer

[CNN]Rudi Bahktiar
[CNN]Miles O'Brien
[CNN]Christiane Amanpour
[CNN]Mike Galanos
[CNN]Dr Sanjay Gupta
[CNN]Paula Zahn

The CNN tag looks and sounds like TMM. People actually started asking if CNN was TMM's farm team. It made me chuckle, then think I should go outside and enjoy the sun, then chuckle again. CNN is funny. All of the anchors can be so fake. Makeup is more important than substance for CNN, seemed appropriate for smurfing.

And with that, this thread should be firmly back on track!

The meaning of My name? I dunno, I like short 2 slyble names that can easly be remembered, and are a signle word.
My last name was Gecko, cause I thought Gecko was cool and I haven't seen anyone use it. PLus I got asked alot if i was teh REAL Gecko on TV that sold insurance.

My new name is Mail course.
People still like to make some sort of Pun Fun with Mail which I like.

I came up with Mail since Main was already taken by alot of people. Plus Mail is Unique name. and not alot of people use names Similar to Mail.

My oldest name is X-Tron but the momment I started using it. People started Stealing it. So i used Gecko

Or pun fun with both Mail and Gecko. Like Male Gecko. You know, a gecko with male parts? Get it?! A gecko with with a twig and berries!

That's all the material I have.

I don't know if I've actually posted to explain my name, but I've never posted to explain where Annie came from.

It's a long and boring story, which is not really so long but rest assured it's quite boring.

I used to play CS 1.6 (repent sinnahs) on an SA server with a bunch of friends, as Amnizu. Every day I would get "amnizu more like animu" which is a combination of two of SA's most prolific catchphrases (x more like z and ANIMU, which is derived from the Japanization of English words by adding -u to them) so I changed it to Animu (pronounced A-nee-moo) for a time on PJ/LS.

Darwin started calling me Annie one day and it stuck ever since.
