25% of your skull missing sounds all sorts of bad-ass. Show us your BRAIIINNNS.

Thanks guys! Usually I get such 'great' (note: sarcasm quotes) responses as "You know Elvis is dead right?" and "Who are you supposed to be, Wolverine?"

Hehe, Jay & Silent Bob for the win!

Oh, and just in case anyone thinks I have them as a "costume" for Halloween, my wife may wish that was the case, but I have had them off and on since I was about 14. I have a expired BC ID to show that I have had them in the past, now that I think about it, among high school photos and the like.

I wish I could, but they wouldn't give them to me. Also the piece of brain they had to remove because it was damaged. They said something about doing tests, so I guess I donated part of my brain to science.

I think it depends on whether the donation was voluntary or by court order.

In a chapter of his book, Eccentric Lives & Peculiar Notions, John Michell describes a British group that advocates self-trepanation, that is, the drilling of a hole in the skull to allow the brain access to more space and oxygen.

Don't bacteria like free space and oxygen?

When people ask me what happened to my head, sometimes I tell them. "Trepanning is NOT a DIY thing."
