XCOM Multiplayer

Postby Florp Incarnate » Mon Mar 04, 2013 1:09 pm

Anybody tried this? I gave it a whirl last night and it's pretty fun. It's not coop campaign, it's purely a battle between opposing squads composed of any of the units from the game (human and alien) up to a certain point limit (defined in the server settings). Lots of different synergies and tactics. Let me know if you want to have a game on steam.

The best part is making sound effects on vent :) PEW PEW PEW

I could give it a try, though no promises that I'll be a challenge.

There actually is a deal on already. If you buy Bioshock Infinite before the 25th, you'll get XCOM for free. Pretty great value considering the quality of both games and the fact that XCOM is still retailing for $50 on it's own!

Oh yeah, if you don't have either game, that sounds like a solid deal. Not AMAAAZING, but really solid. Xcom is excellent, and Bioshock :Infinite is getting wicked rad reviews.
God does not play dice with the universe; He plays an ineffable game of his own devising, which might be compared, from the perspective of any of the other players, to being involved in an obscure and complex version of poker in a pitch dark room, with blank cards, for infinite stakes, with a dealer who won't tell you the rules, and who smiles all the time.

I bought the XCOM/Bioshock combo. Played a bit of both. Liking XCOM so far, Bioshock I'm not sure about yet. Graphics are so vibrant that my eyes are bothered and the game play is somewhat simplistic. That being said, I haven't got very far so perhaps things will improve as I get deeper into the game.

I got that combo as well, but haven't gotten around to XCOM (I know I'll enjoy it). Too busy with Bioshock. This is totally offtopic, but it really is as good as everyone says. I've lost track of how many times I just stopped to take in the level design, wonder about the thought process behind it and how unconventional a decision it is to make a FPS so vibrant when pretty much every other FPS is slathered in brown and gray.
